Public Relation Officer

Dr. Gaurav Kapoor, Assistant Professor, Department of Zoology is presently holding the additional charge of Public Relation Officer in addition to his own duties in Sardar Patel University, Mandi (H.P.).

The University's Public Relation Officer plays a significant role toward projecting, promoting and sharing University's information with the public. This office is a key factor in promoting Universities image and achievements in print & electronic media. PRO office maintains a liaison with University authorities about various activities and achievement of the university.

Information from various branches, sections, departments of the University mainly in form of press note releases, advertisements and developmental features are also released from this office. The university annual reports are also prepared by this office.

Responsibilities of PRO

• The public relation officer shall be responsible for ensuring that the University and its activities, achievements and awards are communicated appropriately to both the internal and external public.
• He shall handle activities including marketing and branding and media liaisoning at both regional and national level.
• He shall be responsible for gathering news and feature information within the university, planning, drafting and writing press releases, feature articles, fact sheets, background material and other copy material for use in intemal and extemal communications both at regional and national level.
• He shall be involved in developing and maintaining contact with the relevant media for promotion of University.
• He shall seek new and creative opportunities to exploit the considerable potential of with the objective of raising the public profile of the University across all its disciplines, University as well as enhancing the University.
• He will be responsible to build rapport and escort various team/teams/ guests visiting the University from government bodies, agencies, office and different corporate houses. He will be responsible for co-ordination and management of the entire program.
• He shall also perform other related duties and special projects as assigned or directed from time to time.
